Roundhegians produced a dominating second half performance to see off the challenge of league rivals West Leeds. Having lost twice in the league, Hegians scored two second half tries through Ray and Johnny to wrap the game up.
A tight first half on a rock solid pitch at the Memorial Ground ended with the visitors leading 3-0. In the second half however Hegians began to control possession much more effectively, and this was turned into points. West Leeds had no answer and with Hoggy's two penalties the score ended 16-3. Matt Hero deserves special mention for his sublime one and only touch of the ball, why score a try when you can slice it into touch? much more fun.
The semifinal is expected to be played next week, following Hegians weekend tour to Jersey. Hopefully yesterday's impressive support can be continued next week, to help the team reach the final.
